$100K Income Cap
In addition, prior to receiving any program benefit in college, the federal adjusted gross income (AGI) of the student's parents (or the income of the student if the student is officially determined to be financially independent of their parents) may not exceed $100,000. Each year in college Oklahoma's Promise students will be required to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which will be used to determine whether the federal adjusted gross income exceeds $100,000 or 700% of the FPL for the teacher eligibility track. For any year that the income exceeds $100,000 or 700% of the FPL for the teacher eligibility track, the student will not be eligible to receive the program benefit.
Eligibility
- Students must enroll in the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade no later than Dec. 31 of the senior year. Students from non-accredited high schools or educated by other means must enroll at age 13, 14, 15, 16, or 17 and no later than their 18th birthday. All studetns must submit an application prior to the official date of their high school graduation.
- At the time of enrollment, the federal adjusted gross income (AGI) of the student's parents may not exceed $60,000 with one or two dependent children OR $70,000 with three or four dependent children OR $80,000 with five or more dependent children.1
- The student must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully present in the United States at the time they enroll in college in order to receive the scholarship.
Academic Requirements
- Take 15 units of required high school courses to help get ready for college. - Make a cumulative 2.50 GPA for all courses in grades 9-12.

For homeschool & non-accredited high schools 2
Homeschool students and students who graduate from a high school that is not accredited by the Oklahoma State Board of Education must earn a composite score of 22 or higher on the ACT, or an equivalent SAT or CLT score.
Test scores must come from an official score report, including superscores. On-campus (residual) scores are not accepted.
CLT scores are only accepted if the test was taken at an approved, in-person testing location, such as an independently run CLT testing center, a public or private school, a charter school, or an Oklahoma college or university.
For students completing CORE HS graduation 3
For students completing the CORE HS graduation requirements, the scholarship will cover at least a portion of tuition for certain programs that meet the requirements to be eligible for federal financial aid offered at an Oklahoma public technology center. The scholarship is only available to be used at career technology centers and is not transferable to a college or university.
Conduct
- Do your homework.
- Don't skip school.
- Don't abuse drugs or alcohol.
- Don't commit criminal or delinquent acts.
Engagement & follow-through
- Meet with a teacher, counselor or principal to go over your schoolwork and records.
- Provide information when requested.
- Apply for other financial aid during your senior year of high school.
- Take part in Oklahoma's Promise activities that will prepare you for college.
