What Is Oklahoma's Promise?

Oklahoma's Promise offers qualified Oklahoma students an opportunity to earn a scholarship for college tuition.

Who May Apply?

Applicants must meet all three:

    Oklahoma Resident

    Applicants must be Oklahoma residents.

  • 2

    In the Right Grade

    8th, 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade students no later than Dec. 31 of the senior year. Homeschool students must apply before their 18th birthday. All students must apply before their official high school graduation date.

  • 3

    Within the Income Limit

    Student whose parents' federal adjusted gross income does not exceed the limits shown below.

1–2 dependents $60,000
3–4 dependents $70,000
5 or more dependents $80,000

Special Income Provisions

Special provisions may apply to families outside standard income limits:

  • Children of a certified public classroom teacher employed in Oklahoma for a minimum of 10 years.
  • Children adopted from certain Oklahoma court-ordered custody and children in the custody of court-appointed legal guardians.
  • Taxable Social Security benefits based on the death or disability of the student's parent(s).
